my first experience spinning ramie - far softer than I’d ever expect a bastĀ plantĀ fiber to be! it is naturally dyed with alkanet bark to this perfect pale dusty purple.
Naturally dyed the wool fiber deep yellow with annatto seeds, hand spun- then stuck in the crimson red acid dye bath to soak up the excess- wish the photo did it justice- the color is surreal!
I'm a freelance designer, illustrator, photographer, toymaker and teacher. I have a deep appreciation
for nature, art and craft, folktales and farming culture.
These things continually inspire my personal work.
